Justinas Krasuckas
I'm an artist based in Lithuania, and my paintings have been shown in numerous solo exhibitions across the country. My landscapes are about more than just scenery — I try to capture what I truly felt while being in nature. In my figurative work, I’m drawn to the emotional connection between people and the natural world.
I find subjects for my work in my local landscape - frequently visiting wetlands, forests, untouched natural areas. I am looking for relationship between the inner world of person and the chaotic, wild, mysterious, nature.
In the past, I painted many portrait commissions and was known primarily as a portraitist. These days, painting outdoors (plein air) really energizes me — it recharges my inner batteries and makes the work feel more alive. Those small plein air studies often become the basis for larger studio paintings I work on during the colder months.
I studied History and Theory of Arts at Vytautas Magnus University and earned my master’s degree in painting from Vilnius Academy of Art. I also spent time at the Florence Academy of Art, where I focused on the classical techniques of the old masters. Currently, I lecture at the Vilnius Academy of Art and co-founded the Classical Realism Atelier.
